n the hills above Jerusalem is located the Biblical town of  Bethlehem.  Depending upon the language, the name of the town has two similar meanings, both relating to sustenance.  In Hebrew, it means the House of Bread and the antithesis (still food), in Arabic, the name signifies the House of Meat.

There is much history that can be found in thousands of resources about the village.  However, due to its modern problems, it is one of three areas especially cared for by the Patriarchal Order of the Holy Cross of Jerusalem.  The far western section, principally Texas, of the Southern Region of the Order, has been particularly responsive to Bethlehem's unfortunates.
